Fanvue has introduced a new Creator Advertising & Promotion Policy to clearly define how Creative Users may promote their profiles and engage in third-party advertising, both on and off the platform.
What’s new?
- New Creator Advertising & Promotion Policy:
- Sets out rules for external promotion of Fanvue profiles (e.g. on social media or paid ads).
- Allows limited third-party promotions on Fanvue with mandatory ad disclosure.
- Prohibits unauthorised product placements, gambling ads, or business-for-hire content.
- Clarifies that Fanvue must approve contests, giveaways, or sponsored partnerships conducted on the platform.
🔗 Creator Advertising & Promotion Policy
- Acceptable Use Policy updated:
- Replaced a broad restriction on third-party commercial activity with a reference to the new policy.
- The updated clause now reads:
Do not engage in third-party commercial activities (including advertising, sponsorships, or product placements) in violation of the Creator Advertising & Promotion Policy.
April 15, 2025 – Updated Co-Authored Content Policy
The Co-Authored Content Policy has been revised to improve clarity, legal enforceability, and alignment with Fanvue’s updated documentation framework.
What’s changed?
- Reformatted using standardised structure and format with clearly defined sections and consistent terminology.
- Defined what constitutes “Co-Authored Content” and clarified that it applies even if the other party is not a Fanvue Creator or is not visually identifiable.
- Clarified the requirement for identity verification and fully informed written consent from all featured individuals.
- Linked to the Consent Form Template (Model Release Form) to assist Creators with compliance.
- Strengthened the section on tagging co-creators and attribution obligations.
- Reiterated that Fanvue does not mediate revenue splits, which must be handled privately between Creators.
- Added enforcement provisions including content removal, balance deductions, and account restrictions where documentation is not provided.
- Included a legal disclaimer releasing Fanvue from co-author disputes or liability claims.
April 15, 2025 – Major Update to Creator Referral & Affiliate Policy
The Creator Referral & Affiliate Policy has been fully rewritten to align with Fanvue’s structured policy framework and to support the launch of the new Creator Affiliate Programme.
What’s changed?
- Reformatted using standardised policy structure and format with numbered sections and subheadings.
- Expanded the existing Referral Scheme section for improved clarity and enforcement.
- Introduced a new section for the Creator Affiliate Programme, allowing creators to promote other opted-in creators and earn commission from Fan Payments.
- Clarified that:
- Affiliate offers are public and self-serve (not individually granted);
- Attribution is cookie-based for logged-out users and account-based for logged-in users;
- Commissions apply to all Fan Payments (subscriptions, renewals, one-time purchases);
- Affiliate commissions are deducted from the promoted creator’s earnings.
- Stated that affiliate commissions are credited with a distinct label (
AFFILIATION
) and follow the standard 7-day settlement period. - Outlined acceptable promotion standards and mandatory ad disclosure requirements.

The Complaints Policy has been revised to follow Fanvue’s policy documentation framework and improve clarity, formatting, and user expectations. These updates do not change the substance of the policy but improve its consistency and procedural transparency.

- Added missing definition for Appeal and clarified who may submit a Complaint.
- Improved guidance on supporting evidence for Complaints and clarified expectations for responses.
- Expanded the Appeals section to include clearer submission standards and review timelines.
- Added references to related policies, including General Terms – Section 16 (Termination), Privacy Policy, and DMCA & Intellectual Property Policy.
- Reinforced anti-abuse language in the Misuse of This Policy section for both Users and non-Users.

The Standard Contract Between Fan and Creator has been comprehensively updated to reflect Fanvue’s regulatory position and clarify the legal structure underpinning all Fan transactions.

- Rewritten to clarify that Fanvue is not an EMI or Payment Institution and does not process payments on behalf of Creators.
- Fans pay Fanvue for a view-only licence, granted via Fanvue under a distribution licence from the Creator.
