## Updates to How We Verify Age and Identity

We've updated our policies to explain more clearly how age and identity verification works on Fanvue, what data is involved, and how long it is kept.

### What's changed?

* [**Privacy Policy – Section 9**](/privacy-policy#9-age-and-identity-verification-data): rewritten to explain what is collected during verification, what Fanvue receives, how our verification provider Ondato handles your data on our behalf, and how long each type of verification data is kept
* [**Privacy Policy – Sections 1 and 2**](/privacy-policy#1-what-data-we-collect): updated to cover verification data for all users, and to confirm that we ask for your explicit consent before any face scan
* [**Age Verification Policy**](/age-verification): updated to describe the selfie or face scan check for viewers and the document check that follows if the scan doesn't pass, the consent step in the verification flow, Ondato's role, and clear retention periods
* [**General Terms & Conditions – Section 2**](/terms-conditions#2-your-account): clarified that any document you provide for verification must be your own, genuine and valid
* [**Content Moderation & Protection Policy – Section 2**](/content-moderation#2-kyc-and-creator-identity-verification): updated to reflect face matching during Creator verification and to link to the retention periods in our Privacy Policy

### Why these changes?

* **Clearer:** you can see exactly what is checked, by whom, and what Fanvue keeps
* **Your choice:** we ask for your explicit consent before any face scan
* **Kept no longer than needed:** viewer face scans and all face-matching data are deleted once the check is complete
